Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Tryouts, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old. By using Tryouts you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• Notify us immediately at support@tryouts.com of any unauthorized use.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use Tryouts to:

• Post illegal, harmful, or deceptive content.
• Harass, discriminate against, or harm other users.
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the platform.
• Impersonate any person or organization.

5. Content & AI processing

You retain ownership of content you submit, including video recordings, transcripts, and written answers. By submitting:

• You grant Tryouts a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, transcribe, summarize, score, and display your content to the relevant organizer to operate the service.
• You acknowledge that your video answers will be automatically transcribed and analyzed by AI (Anthropic Claude and Google Gemini) to generate a written profile and rank you against the organizer's stated criteria.
• You acknowledge that AI does not make casting decisions — it produces summaries and scores. The organizer makes the final decision.
• Video deletion: all video recordings and raw transcripts are permanently deleted 14 days after the relevant tryout's deadline. The AI-generated written summary may be retained by the organizer.
• You may delete your individual submission at any time via the link in your submission confirmation email.

6. Video interview consent

If you submit a recorded video answer, you confirm:

• You are the person appearing in the recording.
• You are at least 18 years old, or have parental/guardian consent if your jurisdiction permits younger participation.
• You have the right to grant the licenses described in Section 5.
• The organizer may review, share internally with their team, and use the AI summary of your submission for casting purposes.

7. Organizer responsibilities

Organizers posting tryouts are responsible for:

• Complying with applicable employment, equal-opportunity, and anti-discrimination laws in their jurisdiction.
• Honoring any compensation, role, or commitments stated in the tryout posting.
• Not redistributing applicant videos outside their team, and not using AI summaries for purposes outside the original tryout context.
• Payment of all fees for their subscription plan via Stripe.

7a. Subscription & billing

• Organizer plans are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. Free plans require no payment.
• Paid plans renew automatically until canceled.
• You can cancel anytime via the Customer Portal accessible from Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds are issued at our discretion within 14 days of the original charge.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Danger Zone.

8. Disclaimers

Tryouts is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tryouts is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated in advance.
